Since its beginning in 1930, the company has built a reputation for service excellence by constantly refining and expanding its technical capabilities, and by attracting and maintaining a professional and technical staff of the highest possible caliber.
Smith and Long was one of the first in the industry to successfully merge the electrical and computer fields, developing considerable expertise in UPS systems, data communications cabling, and large generator and battery installations. We also quickly embraced AutoCAD technology to greatly improve turnaround time and efficiency in modifying or updating client specifications.
In 2010 the company re-entered a growth phase which has proved to be a very exciting and successful time for the company. Smith and Long have increased its ability to respond to your construction needs by increasing its scope of work and capabilities through the companies strategic acquisition of five other companies.
In 2015 Smith and Long moved into a newly renovated 40,000 square foot head office. As we have expanded our facility, we have also expanded our service capabilities by consolidating our partner companies into one location. In addition to our Electrical Service business, our head office also has divisions focused on HVAC, Data Communications, Engineering Studies, Custom Bus Fabrication and Electrical Safety/Service Training.
